Concept Art

This project for me is about being efficient and because im doing a 3D enviroment  i didn’t want to spend to much time on the concept art so ive treated the concept art as more function over form. The first image is an early sketch of my ideas for the space on the bus and at the time i wasn’t sure on the exact type of vehicle but it gave me a good direction. The second image is the main concept for the layout on the bus. The images show the two sides of the bus because it couldn’t be drawn on the single view due to the larger objects overlapping.

So the i wanted this bus to have two main zones. One being the area where he lives and does his normal daily routine and the other zone would be the main workshop itself. I wanted these area’s separated off because i didn’t want all the sawdust coming into the living area. Since most of his time would be spent in the workshop and it will have more objects, the workshop is slightly larger than the living area.

Item 1- A large fold out bed to save space compared to a standard double or single bed. Also obviously serves as a sofa

Item 2- A fold out toilet. Ive never heard of them either but when researching motor home toilets i found this antique example on pinterest. I didn’t want the standard layout of a toilet that you sit on because that would limit the shower foot space but this option removes the toilet and free up space for showering.

Item 3- This is an idea i created because i wanted this bus to almost be self sufficient and off grid. So the top part of the structure is the dust collection. This is connected to hoses that can extend to anywhere on the bus to help keep sawdust in the vehicle to a minimum. After the sawdust is collected it funnels down into a wood pellet machine. I found out about wood pellets through my dad as he is a renewable energy consultant. Wood pellets generate a lot of long lasting energy almost comparable to coal. So this way he not wasting his profit in sawdust but he reusing it to help heat the bus through the wood burning stove (item 5).

Item 4- This was another idea i dreamed up. This issue with a wood workshop is all the big machines like wood planers and drill presses for example. Now you cant condense all the tools but i wanted to use all the space on the bus as efficiently as possible. So the wood saw is placed on some axle jacks which can be lowered the slide back under the table out of the way.

Item 5- Wood burning stove . It can be used to cook on but will mainly be fueled by the wood pellets or by normal logs to heat the bus. This will be the main source of heat so i wanted to make it a reliable source.

Item 6- This is a compressed air tank. I wanted to have this on the bus because it serves so many functions. It can blow up the tires if needed, be used to clean the workshop, used for air tools as well.
